
There are two types shown here. One with eggs and one without. The one without has a better potato hash brown flavour with more crisp while the one with egg is supper fluffy, lightweight and soft. But it looses some potato flavour.
I used frozen instant mashed potatoes. I used 1 cup reheated instant frozen mashed potato cubes. So while frozen it was 2 cups but it melted down to 1 cup. 1 cup mash. 1 tablespoon potato starch. I would have used corn starch but I had none. I then added some salt, butter and onion powder to taste with some cheddar cheese. Mixed it all together while hot and it makes a dense almost dough. Lightly greased my mini waffle iron and made the first one. I decided after the first one to add one egg. Just to see what would happen. I like the eggless one better. Very easy, very fast and quite tasty. Definitely recommend trying out.
