Roast Almond Smoothie And GF Toast

My toddlers teething has calmed right down which means he hasn’t been fussy which also means I get to introduce new things again and hope he likes it. Today he had a whole slice of toast with some of our smoothie. I have a NutriBullet blender which makes it fine enough to swallow without issues. He wasn’t a big fan of the texture and I don’t blame him. Next time I will add oats or soak the nuts overnight. I had roasted unsalted natural almonds, natural yoghurt, milk, vanilla and some maple syrup with an apple and a small banana. So the three of us had basically the same breakfast this morning. He liked the flavour just not the gritty grainy feeling. Oats would solve this and add a smoother feeling.

His teething was getting very painful for him and he became super fussy, especially with temperature and flavours. Now that the problem teeth have pierced and the pain seems to be gone, he is eating well and trying things instead of rejecting everything. But it’s a good breakfast for everyone!

Update: I added oats the next day except we had pear for fruit. A huge Rico pear. He loved it and ate a lot more of it. Because of the fibre I don’t have to worry about the effects of the pear. The pear one was the clear winner. Next time I will add cinnamon.
