Veggies and Rice

I served to much but I know he will throw and waste a lot. He ate half of the veggie rice some peas and some carrot sticks. They are boiled until tender. The rice is made with white rice and veggie rice from the freeze section for quick meals. We have a veggie rice mix of cauliflower broccoli and carrots. The way they are diced so finely made it super quick to cook until it was tender and it was quite tasty. The veggies were quite fresh. I saved the rice for dinner tonight. I also added a bit of onion which I sautéed until tender and soft. He likes peas sometimes. Today he didn’t like them and threw them at the dogs which is fine. Peas are safe for dogs and it’s fairly normal baby behaviour but he did willingly eat what he was offered.

Currently he is about to cut a molar so his bad moods are making him fussy. He will like things one day and hate it the next and it’s totally normal. I keep offering but on alternating days and pending mood. Like today. He normally loves rice and with veg. Today he did sort of liked it but wanted to play more than eat. And it’s ok. He is a meat lover and would probably have enjoyed this more if it had beef or lamb in it. So far I have only tried two types of fish just tuna and salmon. He likes Tuna. He got to try some tuna with Mayo and toast and he enjoyed trying it.

One important thing to take away from this is if they hate it one day, don’t give up. Could be any number of reasons why it’s not sitting right with them. Anything from feeling unwell to sensitive gums. Sometimes making it colder makes all the difference but if a hum and tooth is sensitive sometimes lukewarm is what makes it better. It’s all trial and error.

I love watching him explore new food and play with it and discovering new things.
