Today’s lunch I decided to add the strawberries and blueberries to some gluten free pancakes with lemon yoghurt on the side and some of the fresh fruit. He ate most of it. I used gluten free self raising flour with wheat free oats safe for people with gluten issues. I added eggs and milk and used a pancake maker to cook it. It turned out better than expected and baby enjoyed it. He mostly enjoyed play with the feeling of the fruit in the pancake in the end.

It’s important to let babies play with their food and explore new textures especially if they seem to dislike textures. Sometimes a dislike for textures can be signs for something else wrong but in general it’s a basic part of learning. Things are still new for them and take some getting used to. Overall this meal went better than expected. I definitely recommend trying pancakes with a side of fruit or yoghurt when you are in a mealtime slump. It’s easy and fun for baby to tear up the pancakes and eat it.
It’s well worth heading over to YouTube for ideas. There’s plenty of ideas out there that are worth trying. Just remember if you are unsure about anything to do some research or ask your doctor and avoid using salt or excessive sugar. Best to avoid adding sugar in general.
