Steak, Cauliflower & Cherry Tomato Purée

I asked my husband to put some unsalted well cooked steak strips aside for the baby. Getting some iron and protein is important. And this little fella loves meat.

I roasted until golden brown some cauliflower florets. Added the already cooked steak with some diced yellow cherry tomatoes. Stirred and fried it about and added small amounts of water. Unless you have a very high powered blender you should leave the cherry tomatoes whole and skin them. I have a powerful enough blender when it’s not an issue. At first I added a little too much water which I simply cooked off. Let it cool and blend. It was a nice and thick purée that mostly tasted of steak.

He loved it! Simple and quick. Probably going to be in the regular rotation. Next time I will try with a bit of chicken thigh.

You don’t have to use yellow cherry tomatoes or cherry tomatoes but the small cherry toms are sweeter and tend not to be to acidic like a regular tomato. And it’s easier to add smaller amounts.
