Avocado is very misunderstood. It is rich with vitamins and healthy fats. We all need a balance of healthy fats and healthy natural sugars. Kids actually need sugars from food for brain development. What they don’t need is over processed bad sugars and unhealthy fats such as trans fats. You should try to keep trans fats to 0 wherever possible.
Good fats are good for the heart. There’s an awful lot of misinformation on fat and which is good and which is bad. But like all things it’s best eaten in moderation and from natural sources that aren’t over processed.
Avocado from its thickness can be quite filling. It’s very gentle on little tummies and good for introducing a new texture. My baby was put off by avocado by the way it felt. I tried with water and without so far he likes it best with a bit of baby formula. As he has gotten older I’ve been able to thicken it with less liquid. But he does like it. The texture however he is still getting used to.

This is where I had to learn the hard way about textures with babies. He also isn’t a fan of the texture of broccoli and cauliflower mash. But he loves the taste so he keeps trying. Sometimes I add a little butter for flavour. I use healthy vegan butter as I am lactose intolerant and don’t own regular butter. I use Nuttlex and he likes it and has no digestive issues with it. The amount is small and a rare addition in his food this early but perfectly safe to use in moderation.
I don’t force things he doesn’t like but I do retry foods again. It’s important to retry. He has ended up loving things he didn’t like at first. and as we both learn together I have found that texture has been more of an issue but he is always willing to try new things. I am very lucky he is a ready and willing baby.
