Apple Purée Cerelac Rice Porridge

If Cerelac is too thick it can be binding. Today was the last amount and there’s two serves worth. I occasionally like to make double to freeze for another day. Instead of thinning it with water I decided to thin it with apple purée.

Apple, Pear & Apple, Pear & Prune, Peas and several other foods can give babies the runs. But when paired fibrous foods it can be a well balanced meal for babies and cause less issues. I always recommend researching foods. I was infertile for almost 13 years when my baby showed up on his own. He started solids early and the doctors were happy with his age and gave consent. Since starting solids he has been happier and rarely spits up or vomits. Unless he is teething.

I am lucky that he loves food! A lot of foods pair well with rice porridge so you don’t have to do it plain. If you don’t have easy to use Cerelac you can you regular rice or brown as long as it’s washed, cooked thoroughly and blended well. When baby gets older overcooked soft rice is a good soft easy to chew food to start with that will keep them full.

There are small lumps from the porridge. My little man has two teeth and is chewing very well. He doesn’t choke. If you’re just starting solids don’t leave chunks. Use a blender or whisk and make it smooth.

The next thing he will be trying soon is pumpkin. He has had it in packaged baby food but not homemade. I have been waiting for him to be older than 6 months before I make homemade pumpkin or potato in foods. He is almost 7 months old. so it won’t be long now. As for other foods I’ll keep researching and posting what I make.
